This morning I came across a reminder on rules of the blog: Update it three times a week.  I need to get better about that!

We have a few big projects starting around our home so I’m hoping for some good before and after ideas & referrals for you as the summer unfolds.  They include adding a front porch sitting area, re-doing the backyard to be more kid friendly (can kids and cacti co-exist is the question) and adding hardwoods and new carpet inside.  So stay tuned, starting the bid process now…

In the meantime, another affordable idea for re-doing your kitchen, bathroom or laundry room you may want to consider is going the Ikea cabinet route.  Brian Bondi of Ingenious Kitchen & Bath has re-done several Ahwatukee kitchens using Ikea cabinets and they come out looking like custom work.  Of course you really need to like the more contemparary feel of the Ikea product.

Per Brian you can save up to 20% (notice I said ‘up to’, so keep that in mind as a range) purchasing stock cabinets from Ikea and having him do the install for you.  You still have faucets, coutertops, appliances and lighting to consider but your largest expense is typically the cabinets.  It’s an option to explore.

If you want to learn more contact Brian directly at 480-201-2635.  Let him know you read it in Tukee Talk.  I’ve seen his work in person and it looks great.  Plus, his clients I’ve talked to gave him good ratings on customer service.  Check out the before and after pictures to get a feel for the look.
